My name is Shayli Birla, and I am currently a first-year at the University of Chicago.  I have a passion for STEM.  I joined the robotics team during my freshman year of high school, became the first female captain, and have expanded my interest in robotics ever since. I help to mentor two younger robotics teams at my previous high school, Dwight Englewood, and I currently coach 4 FLL Jr. teams that I founded. I have taught many robotics workshops at local libraries in my area, and I devise curriculums and tutor children from ages 6-12.

 

I am often approached by parents and children with questions on how to get started in robotics.  I have started this site with the hopes of simplifying what can seem very daunting.  I will continue to expand this site consistently so please reach out if you have any specific questions or topics you'd like me to cover!
